Slow Food, Local Food, Eco-Friendly Gardens

Here's a selection of seasonal events relating to local and sustainable food and gardens:

Every Wednesday until September 19
Harvest Wednesdays at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West), featuring seasonal menus by chef Marc Breton, along with local wines and beers. The series culminates with a seven-course Final Harvest event.

Wednesday, August 15, 6 to 9 p.m.
Toronto Green Community presents a workshop on Water-Friendly Gardens and Landscapes, followed by a two-hour workbee.

Sunday, September 16, noon to 5 p.m.
Slow Food Toronto and Evergreen present Picnic at the Brickworks, featuring local chefs, craft brewers and VQA wineries like Jamie Kennedy, Michael Stadtlander, Soma Chocolate, Oyster Boy, Cave Spring, Closson Chase, Fielding, Flatroc, Henry of Pelham, Lailey Vineyard, Norman Hardy, Peninsula Ridge, Southbrook, Stratus and Tawse.
